SMART GOVERNMENT II PROJECT KICK-OFF MEETING WITH BENEFICIARIES WAS HELD ON 20th OF FEBRUARY

The Government of Mongolia is implementing Smart Government II Project, financed by the World Bank. World bank mission team led by Co-Task Team Leader Jennifer Gui is undertaking from February 1923, 2024.

Yesterday, The Smart Government II Project kick-off meeting with beneficiaries was held on 20th of February, in order to increase the participation, to have a unified understanding of the project implementation activities, procurement and process activities. The Minister of Digital Development and Communications Mr.Uchral.N gave an opening speech at the kick-off meeting. State Secretary of Digital Development and Communications Ms.Battsetseg.B, World Bank Country Director for China and Mongolia, and Director for Korea, East Asia and Pacific Ms.Mara K. Warwick, World Bank Country Manager for Mongolia Mr.Taehyun Lee have participated.    

Within the project, 45 project activities will be organized under 3 main Project Development Objectives:

  1. Enabling Environment for Digital Transformation
  2. Transforming Digital Government
  3. Growing the Digital Economy

Outcome:

  • Improve the quality and efficiency of online public services to citizens and businesses
  • Cost-efficiency savings from the use of the shared cloud computing platform by GoM agencies.
  • The project will provide skills and literacy training to 13,000 civil servants and citizens
  • Create 3,000 new digital jobs for youth and women, and help digitalize 2,000 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to improve their competitiveness and resilience in the global economy.
