LAST WEEK, SMART GOVERNMENT II PROJECT BENEFICIARIES WORKED TOGETHER

The Government of Mongolia is implementing Smart Government II Project, financed by the World Bank. World Bank mission was held from February 1923, 2024. The mission raised fruitful discussion among the beneficiaries.

During the Mission, world bank mission team led by Co-Task Team Leader Jennnifer Gui met with State Secretary of Digital Development and Communications, Head of Steering Committee Battsetseg.B, Director General of Digital Policy Implementation and Coordination Department MDDC, Project Director Bilegdemberel.B, Head of Public Administration and Management Department, Cabinet Secreteriat of Government of Mongolia Saruul.D, Head of Innovation Policy Department, Ministry of Economy and Development Zolzaya.T, Chairman of State Procurement Agency, Ministry of Finance Batzul.Ts, Head of Climate change and Policy Planning Department, Ministry of Environment and Tourism Tserendulam.Sh, Head of Declaration Collection and Analysis Division, Inspection and Analysis Department, Senior commissar, Independent Authority Against Corruption Bayarsaikhan.B, Head of the Administration department, General Authority for State Registration Tsolmon.G and Project implementation unit.  

The Smart Government II Project aims to improve Mongolia’s legal and regulatory environment for building trust and cybersecurity in the use of digital technologies. The project will also enable the development of public services, shared use of cloud computing, and cybersecurity services in the public sector.

The project also aims to help develop Mongolia’s digital economy in response to the impact of disruptive technologies transforming economies and societies globally and to provide new opportunities for Mongolia’s development. For the digital economy, the project will provide skills and literacy training to 13,000 civil servants and citizens, create 3,000 new digital jobs for youth and women, and help digitalize 2,000 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to improve their competitiveness and resilience in the global economy.
