The World Bank’s technical mission, aimed at supporting the implementation of the “Smart Government-2” project, was successfully held in Ulaanbaatar from February 17 to 21, 2025. The project, implemented by the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation, and Communications, focuses on improving the quality and efficiency of online public services for citizens and businesses, while also enhancing digital skills and creating digital-enabled jobs across Mongolia.
During the official visit, key representatives from the World Bank, including Sebastian Foo, Senior Digital Development Consultant, D. Amarbayasgalan, Digital Development Consultant at the World Bank Country Office in Mongolia, and N. Otgonjargal, Senior Procurement Specialist, met with various project beneficiaries. These included the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Communications, Cabinet Secreteriat of Government of Mongolia, Ministry of Economy and Development, Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, Ministry of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth, State Procurement Agency, National Data Center, E-Mongolia Academy and the Public Cyber Security Incident Response Team. The discussions focused on the progress of the sub-projects and activities under the “Smart Government-2” initiative, the challenges faced, and future plans for the continued development and expansion.
